Hail Damaged and Yellowed Ridge Skylights Are Replaced.
The Problems:
The skylights have suffered from UV Rays and from hail stones. Fortunately, the existing system had multi-wall glazing preventing damage into the interior.
Aged and yellowed skylights are worse than having no skylights. The light is depressing and unnatural to the guests below.
The Solutions:
We did not want any issues with small debris in the pool. It is much easier and safer to cover the pool temporarily as we perform the demolition of the old skylight.
New skylight frames are pre-assembled on the roof prior to demolition allowing for as little exposure time as possible.
Before and After
The difference to the quality of light is drastic. No longer saturated with yellow light the natural daylight look feels more open and inviting tot he space below. It is an uplifting feeling!
