The existing skylight has a heavy tint, so the customer opted for clearer glass, which allows for more light. Solarban 60 reduces UV rays and helps to distribute light more evenly.

Multiple units of glass have failed seals causing hazing and streaking.

Materials have been delivered and staged on the ground prior to lifting to the roof staging areas.

Using the forklift, materials are lifted to the roof, uncrated and then staged for the four skylights.

There is multiple projects going on at once. The existing skylight is being prepared for removal while another team is assembling the new skylight frame on the deck.

When preparations are completed, the old skylight is removed and the new frame and glass is set over the opening. This will ensure the building is open to the elements for the least amount of time possible.

The areas under the skylights are often occupied and are a source of revenue, so minimizing downtime was paramount. We worked at night to ensure we were not actively working overhead during business hours. There is seldom a need for more than a plastic drop cloth to catch the majority of years of accumulated dust and dirt from the existing skylight.

Installation of the new skylight causes minimal debris which will be caught by simple drop cloth of plastic. Skylight Specialists do the majority of the skylight installation work from the roof. This method often does not need much disruption of the area below. The area is only closed off while work is actively being done overhead.
