A Translucent Canopy Installation Provides Shelter from the Storms.
The Housing Authority of the City of Aurora, Colorado (AHA) was established by action of the Aurora City Council in February of 1975. AHA owns and manages more than 680 units of rental housing and is committed to providing safe, decent, affordable housing to the community.
The Village at Westerly Creek Building 1 was completed in August 2012. The property has 55 units for seniors and those with disabilities.
Village at Westerly Creek Building 2 will be a 65-unit, 4-story building for seniors and those with disabilities. Building 2 will complete the disposition and relocation of the AHA’s remaining public housing residents. Construction is anticipated to commence in late 2013, with completion in 2014.
Part of the design criteria for Building 2 is a translucent canopy installation over the front entrance of the building to protect the residents from the elements.
