Flight Training Center Renovation
United Airlines recently completed a two-year renovation project and has officially opened their fully equipped flight training facility in Denver, CO. With more than 30 full flight simulators, the training facility will provide over 12,000 pilots the new and ongoing experience they need to develop and maintain their skills.
Skylight Specialists gladly contributed to this project after being contacted by Mortenson Construction, who managed the entire renovation. We were called upon specifically for exterior canopy glazing.
CPI U-Lite System
Working with existing steel support beams, Skylight Specialists provided and installed a 20 foot by 46 foot U-Lite Canopy manufactured by CPI Daylighting. Designed for open-air use, this single layer polycarbonate glazing will not fade over time (yellow discoloring) and requires no maintenance after installation.

The U-Lite system is a cost-effective alternative to glass systems that don’t force you to sacrifice the modern aesthetic that most seek. Due to its light weight, the U-Lite system also allows for quicker installations and provides the flexibility needed for long-term durability. CPI Daylighting also offers a handful of colors, with translucent or transparent options available.
