High Rise Condominium Will Replace Skylights.

The Lausanne condominiums in Naples Florida is a beachfront high-rise building, actually two buildings, in the Moorings neighborhood. The Lausanne was built in 1980 and features structural dome skylights, its own beach access and is located close to the Moorings Country Club.

There are two buildings and each building has ninety (90) residences located on eight stories.

Each building has an atrium covered with a 60 foot diameter acrylic dome skylight.

We Will Replace Both Skylights.

Product Used:

• 2 – 60′ Oldcastle Naturalite Aluminum and glass domes.
• 9/16″ laminated (1/4″ Bronze HS, .060 clear PVB, 1/4″ Clear HS) glass.

Week One | Prep for Safety

First things first, we take our safety very seriously. That means a safety plan that includes warning line barriers, and a debris net to catch anything that might fall or get dropped accidentally down into the courtyard.

Week Two | Demolition

While our specialists have been setting the safety anchors, the rest of the crew were busy at roof level. Caps have been removed and the acrylic lenses removed.

Week Three | Construction

It starts on the ground.

The principle frame pieces will be assembled. This is the piece that will position everything including the fit around the elevator and access columns.

Week Four-Nine | Construction Progress

With a few snags—lots of rain, a broken piece of glass in the crate—worked progressed smoothly through the completion of the first dome and continued on to the second.

Week Ten | Completion!

Getting and installing the broken glass replacement, buttoning up the exterior flashing, craning tools and trash to the ground—it all comes together!
