The Meridian Metropolitan District (MMD) was created in 1980 to provide numerous public services, including drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, to the Meridian service area.

Translucent Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) panels by Kingspan Light and Air were integrated in the design to allow for natural light across multiple sections of the exterior walls.

Framing for the FRP panels was installed to infill the larger open areas within the CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) block walls. Our crews built the framing on the ground then moved it into place prior to installing the panels.

We worked in sequence down the wall timely so that multiple areas were not opened up until framing and panels were ready for installation.

Windows were integrated into the FRP system to allow for visibility and airflow.

While this is a working water facility, it is located in a public area visible from common roads, and the architect included smaller FRP sections not only for lighting quality but also for exterior architectural design qualities.

Louvers were integrated into the FRP system on the back of the structure to allow for airflow.
