Wall Lights Installed in a Gymnasium are an Ideal Way to Provide Natural Daylighting

The New Gym

The school is currently in the process of adding a gymnasium and we have the pleasure of adding CPI Daylighting wall lights to provide the natural daylighting for the gym. This is an ideal use for  the translucent, polycarbonate, Quadwall panel system.

• The panels are safe from flying projectiles, such as volley balls and other sports equipment.
• The soft, natural, translucent light provided by the wall lights allows anyone in the gym to easily see what they need to see.
• It reduces the glare created by harsh direct light. Glare can  cause issues with athletic performance.

What We Did:

• We provided design ideas addressing the best way to help light this interior space with products that are long lasting and modern in appearance and performance.
• Supply and install two  CPI Daylighting Wall-Lights. 1780 sq ft on the south elevation and 1632 sq ft on the north elevation.

Product Used:

• CPI Daylighting 4″ Quadwall® Wall Lights, with a seamless flush look, eliminating aluminum mullions.
• Selecting an energy efficient Quadwall® system with higher light transmission allowed the architect to optimize energy cost and reduce the overall size of the glazed area, saving on capital costs.
• Quadwall – U-Factors, Colors and Solar Data

Results:

• This school has high standards and expectations and we have met or exceeded their goals in production  and installation times along with quality products.
• This was a fast track project and we met the needs of the contractor. The wall lights were installed when needed and within the contractors expected schedule and time frame.
