Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado Uses Warehouse Skylights to Provide Daylighting.

Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado finished construction and opened a state-of-the-art warehouse in Colorado Springs in January of 2009. With more than 40,000 square feet of warehouse space for food, it more than doubled their former capacity.

The new warehouse is LEED* Silver certified. This rating is based on construction techniques in five key areas:

  • Sustainable site development.
  • Water savings.
  • Energy efficiency.
  • Materials selection.
  • Indoor environmental quality.

The warehouse skylights reduce the need for electric lighting (increasing energy efficiency) and help to provide employees with a healthy workplace (indoor environmental quality).

What We Did:

  • We installed the skylights during construction on time and under schedule

  • (2) 6′ x 38′ Versa-Ridge Fiberglass Translucent Skylights by Naturalite.
