Centria wall panels will be used on new Steamboat Springs school.
The new $52.5 million 74,000 SF school may open as early as the 2021-2022 school year and will serve 490 students in preschool through grade 8. The school will be the first new traditional school built for the Steamboat Springs School District since 1981
All around Steamboat there is folklore about the mountains and the springs. “The story of Sleeping Giant, based on the shape of Elk Mountain, is one of the more famous stories in Steamboat,” said Lara Craig, Steamboat Springs School District board member and chair of the naming committee. “Based on submissions, it was overwhelmingly the people’s choice.”
The installation is under way.

Set girts:
April, 2021—the building’s construction has finally reached a point where our crew is able to begin the installation of the Centria wall panels. The process begins with the installation of the girts, the horizontal structural members to which the panels will be attached.
Install panels:
May 2021—Installation of the blue CS-200 panels begins.
Work is progressing rapidly.
