The Aims Automotive and Technology Center — School Skylights for Aims Community College

The Aims Automotive & Technology Center opened January 2010 as a state-of-the-art technology and education center. Located near I-25 and US-34, this centrally located 45,000-square-foot facility offers convenient drive times from the major population areas of Northern Colorado.

These school skylights add just the right amount of natural daylighting to the interior spaces where the students are hard at work.

What We Did:

• Install (22) 4896 Velux CAP self flashed skylights on site-built fire treated curbs.
• Install (8) 4848 Velux CAP self flashed skylights on site-built fire treated curbs.

Product Used:

• (22) Velux Skylights # VKC-7SHJBU CAP 4896 9″ self flashing
• (8) Velux Skylights #VKC-7SHJBU CAP 4848 9″ self flashing

Results:

• The school skylights arrived on schedule and were loaded to the roof in pristine shape.
• The openings were cut by our crews, saving the contractor any worries about personnel walking through openings. Or having to protect those openings before the school skylights were set.
• The warehouse-like interior was immediately lit up by natural daylight, even though the interior surfaces at that stage were not very reflective.
