The eight existing barrel vaults are in poor condition.
Stress cracks are typical when the skylights are incorrectly caulked in a bandaid attempt to stop leaks. The caulking (often very heavy/thick) impedes the movement of the lenses during normal expansion and contraction and can produce a great amount of stress. There is not signs of inappropriate caulking in this situation—it may be a case of poor design and is still related to a restriction of movement of the lenses..

We will replace the eight existing barrel vault skylights with like for like barrel vault skylights manufactured by Wasco, a part of Velux Commercial.
