Hail Damaged Skylight Repair
Cherry Creek Retirement Village. This luxury senior living community has a 34 foot by 34 foot pyramid skylight over its lobby and a smaller square pyramid skylight over an atrium.
Both skylights have extensive hail damage and are leaking. The owners were faced with two options:
- Replace the entire skylight. Or,
- A skylight repair. The polycarbonate panels can be replaced and, with our expertise, we can repair the leaks. Advances in technology will allow us to replace the existing three-celled panels with five-celled panels. These panels are more hail resistant, but are they hail resistant enough to withstand a severe Colorado hail storm?
The owners have opted for a skylight repair. A cost effective solution compared to replacing the skylights. As long as they do not suffer significant damage in a future hail storm . A gamble they are willing to take.
Our Skylight Repair:
- Supply & install replacement polycarbonate panels on the two square pyramid skylights.
- Remove and clean sealant from caps.
- Remove hail damaged 16 mm panels.
