In 1872, the Denver Railway Company built the Horse Barn at 33rd and Arapahoe. The Horse Barn contained three sections: a two-story stable and hayloft, office and storage space, and a two-track car barn.

By 1890, the Horse Barn was no longer used by the streetcar industry. Denver businessman George E. Turner started a moving and storage business. The Horse Barn continued to serve as a moving and storage facility until it was abandoned in the mid-twentieth century.

Today, the barn that once stabled horses for the Denver Railway Co.’s horse-drawn street cars, will be a hub for 25+ international-development nonprofits, a farmers market and the Denver Urban Gardens.

One part of the renovation will be a skylight replacement project involving twenty one curb mount skylights.
